It’s been about 15 years since my last visit to New Krung Thai on Winchester, so we decided to stop by for lunch today to celebrate my aunt’s upcoming birthday. We arrived during a busy period, but the wait to be seated was only about 15 minutes, which honestly wasn’t bad at all. Parking, however, was a different story. The lot is small, cramped, and tough to navigate, and street parking doesn’t offer much relief. Getting a spot definitely took more effort than expected. As for the food, it was just okay — nothing terrible, but also nothing that really stood out or felt special. Given how many great Thai options there are in San Jose now, the dishes felt a bit underwhelming. Overall, it was a decent lunch and a nice outing for my aunt, but the experience didn’t quite live up to the nostalgia I remembered.

I’ve been to this New Krungthai Restaurant a few time now but this recent visit was actually the best experience yet!!!! My sister made a reservation for 10-15 people and we had a blast celebrating my sister’s birthday. They offers plenty of Authentic Thai Flavors that includes: Delicious Salad dishes, Noodles, Seafood, Specialty Soups, Rice Platters, Tofu, BBQ, Delightful Desserts, Beers, Wines, Signature Cocktails, a Full bar and So much more!!!! Very Limited Parking Spaces but nicely decorated inside with a cozy Atmosphere. Definitely love to come back here with my friends!!!! 🎉🌶️😍04-07-2026🎂🌶️🎉

The Pineapple Fried Rice was a standout, and the Ribeye is a steal at $32, delicious and very reasonably priced. Adding the Papaya Salad made for a perfect, tangy match. Flavorful food, good portions, and fair prices. I'll definitely be back!

Came here on a Thursday night and the place was packed. Loud and lively which was not what I expected for a weekday. Started with the chicken satay. Really solid. The peanut sauce was great, and the little cucumber and onion pickles on the side were a great pairing. Ended up eating the whole thing before the mains even arrived. Tom yum with prawns was fine, not bad, just average. Could’ve been more sour, and the large portion wasn’t as large as I was hoping. The Panang curry with chicken was amazing. Perfectly balanced sweet and savory, and they didn’t skimp on the chicken. Would order this again easily. Service was attentive and on top of everything. Waters kept getting refilled, staff was friendly. No complaints there.

The Bay Area has so many exceptionally delightful Thai Restaurants. So we decided to find out which is our favorite all over again. After hitting about 15-20 Thai restaurants across SF and the Bay Area, we choose New Krung Thai in San Jose as the best for their exceptional Thai Cuisine in terms of Quality, flavor, depth and Authenticity well complimented by attentive and unhurried service by the hostess in a Thai decor or environment. They have an exceptional wine list to pair with also. Our favorites here were Goong Khee Mao & the Basil Chili Garlic at the Most Delectable & Lovely New Krung Thai San Jose
